Nick now works in a dead end job in a doggie spa. The resort has seen better days. Jenny turns the tables on Adam when she initiates their breakup, but Adam soon re-encounters April; they break into a nearby home and become intimate. Nick worries about cheating on his wife, even though the events occur before he even meets her. It's now a dump, but the lads rally for a night of drinking in the hot tub. His twenty-three year old nephew, Jacob, lives in his basement since Jacob's single mother, Adam's sister Kelly, is a deadbeat.
Adam, who wants to be in love, has just been acrimoniously dumped by the latest in a long string of girlfriends. Adam finds his attraction to Jenny reignited, but is distracted when he meets laid-back music journalist April during the resort's concert. Jacob and Nick enter the tub, but Lou decides to stay in 1986, admitting to Adam that his carbon monoxide poisoning was attempted ; knowing the future, he wants to make investments and be a good father to Jacob. Hot Tub Time Machine 2010 movie : A malfunctioning time machine at a ski resort takes a man back to 1986 with his two friends and nephew, where they must relive a fateful night and not change anything to make sure the nephew is born. Four pals are stuck in a rut in adulthood: Adam John Cusack has just been dumped, Lou Rob Corddry is a hopeless party animal, Craig Craig Robinson is a henpecked husband, and Jacob Clark Duke does nothing but play video games in his basement. They go to Blaine's cabin to search for the drink, during which Lou finds and seduces Kelly. .
Maybe if they do everything the same way they did that night, they'll get back to the future so Jacob can be born. Adam insists upon staying too, but Lou pushes him into the vortex at the last moment. Although Cusack has stated on his Twitter account that he was not even asked to be a part of the sequel, Cusack makes an uncredited cameo in the unrated home video release of the film. Because of an accident which almost takes Lou's life - which the authorities believe was an attempted suicide despite Lou's denials - Adam, Nick and Jacob decide to treat Lou to a vacation weekend to Kodiak Valley, a ski resort the three friends often frequented during happier times in their life. Nick once had a promising musical career, but gave that up for his wife Courtney, who rules the family. In a world that releases gross-out comedies by the barrel, Hot Tub Time Machine manages to include both the sweetness of the Judd Apatow comedies of late, as well as the misogynist, bad taste teen comedies of the 1980's that saw a revival in the early 2000's thanks to American Pie 1999. It seems almost pointless to draw out the plot given the film's to-the- point title, but it tells the story of three friends, Adam, who has just seen his girlfriend leave him, Lou Rob Corddry , an alcoholic who is in hospital after an accidental suicide attempt, and Nick Craig Robinson , who has generally harbouring the knowledge that his wife has cheated, and is busy pulling car keys out of dog's arses for his job.
To help Lou recover from car-exhaust poisoning, Adam and Nick, with Adam's nephew Jacob, go to a winter resort that was their old party place. Now they have to alter the future in order to save the past. The one person who seems to know what's going on is the hot tub maintenance man, who implies that they have to recreate their lives on that 1986 Winterfest vacation so as not to upset the future before they can be sent forward to the present. Adam has to break up with his girlfriend Jenny and get stabbed in the eye with a fork; Lou must pick a fight with and get beaten up by Blaine, a ski patrol ; Nick must have sex with a groupie and give a poor performance with his band at an open mic event. Although the film wasn't quite as funny as I was hoping it to be, it does make up for this by having several appallingly distasteful, yet very funny, set-pieces, including one that sees one the group having to face performing fellatio on his friend. Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink returns to the helm for this sequel set 10 years in the future, and starring Rob Corddry, Adam Scott, Clark Duke, and Craig Robinson.
Back at the present, Adam, Nick, and Jacob discover that Lou has changed history by founding the immensely successful Lougle, which affords him a luxurious lifestyle with Kelly. That premonition is most important to Jacob, who believes that any change to their structure will result in him not being born. After a wild night of drinking in the hot tub, they wake up to find themselves transported back to the 1980's and realise they have the chance to remedy the pains from the past, as well as party like they did years ago. Written by The 1980's, it would seem, is back with a bang. Hot Tub Time Machine, which wants nothing more than to be a screwball farce, succeeds beyond any expectations suggested by the title. Chocked full of references and homages to everything 80's, this will obviously appeal more to people growing up in the era.
And Lou lives a reckless life as an overgrown adolescent. When Lou finds himself in trouble, Nick and Jacob fire up the hot tub time machine in an attempt to get back to the past. But Adam, Nick and Lou have problems adhering to many of the less pleasant incidents of that vacation. Leaving Kelly, Lou finally assaults Blaine; the four friends retrieve the Chernobly and return to the hot tub where they create a vortex. One of the red-band trailers consists primarily of specially shot footage not featured in the film of 's character in a tub. To minimize the , the guys plan to re-enact their experiences. We would like to think that we have moved on from the homophobic, racist and sexist humour of the 80's and that we have developed a more politically correct outlook on life, but we haven't really - it's still very funny when done right.
When the repairman informs Jacob that a chemical was the key to their time travel, Jacob realizes it was the Chernobly. Robinson did make a short appearance, but only via satellite. Some tracks have artists in parentheses; this is the artist who originally performed the song. Several of the songs were sung by members of the film. Somehow, the hot tub takes them back to 1986, on a fateful night for each of them. The film was screened for free in over 50 cities in the weeks leading up to its release. Later on, Lou tries to capitalize on his knowledge of football game outcomes; it works until he risks everything on a game-winning touchdown, only to have a squirrel from the resort which he vomited on earlier crash the field and ruin the play.
Genre: , Stars: , , Director: Steve Pink Country: Rating: 6. To cheer him up, Adam and Nick arrange for Lou to join them at Kodiak Valley Ski Resort, where the three enjoyed fun times in their youth; Adam's nephew Jacob tags along. The movie is slightly held back by some predictable plotting, a plot twist you can see a mile away, and some gags that fail to hit the mark, but the film is well aware of its ridiculousness, embracing it's silly plot and thankfully not dwelling on the details. Adam discovers that he is happily married to April, while Nick is a successful music producer married to a happy and caring wife. But they're happy that they manage to get the same hotel room they had twenty-four years earlier during Winterfest '86. But if adhering to what they did in 1986 won't change the future, they may come to the realization that making certain changes may result in a better life for themselves than the first time around, the consequences be damned. The guys prevent Lou, once again beaten up without his friends, from falling off the rooftop.
