It packs action, fist-play, slapdash, humor with tongue-in-cheek and is quite bemusing. There happens numerous adventures and silly struggles against nasties led by Ormond Joe Bugner a wildlife smuggler who takes animals to carry them to abroad menageries.

A country manor mystery that's actually a deliciously wicked comedy of manners, The Hippopotamus is a rollicking adaptation of the best-selling novel by Stephen Fry. Hill's character occasionally ruins the other's hunting safaris. The lighting-paced storyline slows down at times , but frenetic fight-sequences and fun make up for it , besides includes a chimp getting into mischief , pranks and antics. David, however, has gone missing, leading to a widespread search across the manor's grounds. While Michael and company despair over the possibility of having to euthanise Lilac, Ted learns from various members of his godfamily that the miracles he was sent to investigate were performed by David himself.

On the way back, David explains to Ted that he believes his healing powers come from his moral purity and a spiritual connection with nature, channelled though his hands and especially his bodily fluids; Ted rebukes all of this as blind delusion, leading a heartbroken David to abandon him. This is a nice and funny juvenile story for Hill and Spencer fans , as they are delightful and likable. However, the others discover David's absence and rescue him, before Ted is forced to deliver the unfortunate news that Jane's leukemia has killed her. The film isn't always good , sometimes is fresh and diverting and on a couple of memorable occasions , it's frankly delicious. The movie displays innumerable laughters , jokes and slapstick.
It turns out that Spencer's character is none too honest, either, since he gives his tourists rifles loaded with blanks so they can't hurt each other or the animals. Ted eventually sights David and Clara running into the woods afterwards and gives chase, only to find Clara performing fellatio on David. Thin and blonde man named Slim Terence Hill and stocky , bearded fatty named Tom Bud Spencer team up again as the valiant duo. But the built-in contrivances prove harder to circumvent and, consequently, this quirky comedy only occasionally sputters into life. The following day, David appears to perform more miracles by curing Lilac's ragwort poisoning and Oliver's angina, leading Valerie to pursue him in hopes of improving Clara's appearance.
After Simon takes Clara back to the manor, Ted comes out of hiding and drives a bleeding David to the hospital. It centers on a lapsed poet, failed drama critic, redundant husband and hard-working drunk, Ted Wallace the mellifluously voiced Roger Allam in a rare starring role. This quirky comedy only occasionally sputters into life. He deserves better, but casts such a large shadow that his co-stars are reduced to ciphers. This release has some cool and several hilarious moments , adding wonderful African landscapes. It's an entertaining romp plenty of brawls , including amusing bounds and leaps.
